BARAMULLA, AUGUST 17: The Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS), District Baramulla, today kick-started the Inter-Zonal District Level Selection Trials-cum-Competitions across multiple venues in the district, witnessing enthusiastic participation of hundreds of young sportspersons.
The Under-14 Boys Table Tennis selection trials were held at the Indoor Stadium, Khawaja Bagh, while Under-14 Boys Chess trials were conducted at Budding Bloom School, Khawaja Bagh. The Under-14 Boys Badminton trials were organised at Bipin Rawat Indoor Stadium, Baramulla, whereas Under-14 and Under-17 Boys Taekwondo competitions were held at the Indoor Stadium, Khawaja Bagh.
Speaking on the sidelines of the events, Mushtaq Ahmad Pampori, DYSSO Baramulla, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and said that such competitions provide young athletes with a valuable platform to showcase their talent, gain competitive exposure and progress towards higher-level sporting opportunities. He also emphasised the department’s commitment to promoting a strong sporting culture and nurturing emerging talent at the grassroots level.
