ANANTNAG, OCTOBER 11: A significant event aimed at raising awareness about the rights of girls and the challenges they face was today organized to commemorate ‘International Girl Child Day’ at Government Girls Higher Secondary School (GGHSS) Aishmuqam.

The function was attended by Shyam Kumar, Chairman, Tehsil Legal Service Committee, and the Principal of GGHSS Aishmuqam.

The event focused on the importance of gender equality and highlighted various laws enacted by the Government of India to combat gender inequality, sexual exploitation, malnutrition, and inadequate healthcare for girl children.

In his address, Chairman TLSC, Shyam Kumar, emphasized, “It is our responsibility to provide opportunities for every girl to succeed.” His speech underscored the vital role of education in achieving gender equality.

Naseer Ahmad Mir, a penal advocate, served as the resource person, engaging students and staff in meaningful discussions.

Students actively participated, sharing personal experiences and discussing the protective laws and government schemes such as ‘Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao’ aimed at empowering girls.

This event not only fostered awareness but also encouraged dialogue on the challenges girls face, reinforcing the community’s commitment to ensuring their rights and opportunities.
