J&K reports 626 fresh cases; no deaths

Srinagar registers spike of 167 cases

J&K reports 6 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported 626 fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 5,146 while no more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours and death toll stands at 4,776.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 626 new cases, 512 belong to Kashmir division while as 114 to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 298,135 including 291,694 recoveries and 2,430 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 172,578 including 169,211 recoveries and 2,346 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,146 including 4,011 from Kashmir division and 1,135 from Jammu division.

With 525 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 460,905 which is 97.86 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 626 cases today, 167 are from Srinagar, 105 from Baramulla, 81 from Budgam, 15 from Pulwama 64 from Kupwara, 22 from Anantnag, 14 from Bandipora, 24 from Ganderbal, 19 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 114 are from Jammu division that include 72 from Jammu district, 05 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 08 from Doda, 03 from Kuthua , 02 from Samba, 09 from Kishtwar, 03 from Poonch, 09 from Ramban and 01 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,699,267 persons in J&K are under observation while 135 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 5,146 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,689,108 persons have completed the surveillance period and 302 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,243,710 samples are available.

“Out of 26,243,710 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,772,883 while 470,827 have tested positive, among them 5,146 cases are active, 460,905 have recovered and 4,776 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
