Jammu’s Political influence set to determine J&K Govt: Devender Singh Rana

Srinagar, Sep 16 : Senior BJP leader Devender Singh Rana stated that the political landscape of Jammu has reached a pivotal point, positioning it to determine the next government of Jammu and Kashmir on October 8, the day when votes will be counted in the ongoing Legislative Assembly elections.

While campaigning in Dheyaran, Ban, Faghari, and Mathwar within the Amb Gharota and Mathwar Mandal of the Nagrota Assembly Constituency, Mr. Rana, the BJP candidate, attributed this empowerment of Jammu to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He highlighted Modi’s belief in equal opportunities for the people of both Jammu and Kashmir in governance and decision-making.

“The mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas’ aims to end discrimination against any region or community and to ensure equitable growth for all, as enshrined in the Constitution by Babasaheb Ambedkar,” Mr. Rana said. He referred to the initiatives taken after the abrogation of Article 370, which have led to holistic development and a restoration of peace. He noted that the people of the region are eager to benefit from the peace and development, especially in the Valley, which had previously been mired in violence and uncertainty.

Mr. Rana emphasized that for the first time in over seven decades, Jammu’s political influence has become more significant and will shape the governance structure of Jammu and Kashmir, in line with the BJP’s philosophy of ‘Nation First.’ He urged the voters to support BJP candidates, viewing this election as a unique opportunity to set the path for a peaceful and prosperous ‘Naya Jammu Kashmir,’ in line with Prime Minister Modi’s vision.

The upcoming elections are seen as pivotal in shaping governance in Jammu and Kashmir, with an empowered Jammu now at the forefront. Observers note that recent reforms and growing regional sentiment have significantly bolstered Jammu’s political clout, potentially reshaping the alignment of political forces in the Union Territory. The nation watches closely as Jammu navigates its role in the post-reorganization era of Jammu and Kashmir.

Mr. Rana praised the BJP leadership under the Prime Minister for elevating Jammu to the political center stage, attributing this shift to the landmark political developments of August 2019. He remarked that this transformative decision has opened new opportunities for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, as evidenced by the progress in both the Valley and the Jammu region over the past five years.
