JK Bank Digital Services – Disappointed Completed

It is such a shame for the J&K Bank that they left their customer fending for themselves as their digital platform for online transactions has turned out to be a farce. The people were left high and dry on Saturday even as the same continued when these lines were being jotted. The event is unbecoming of an institution with such a reputation in the financial sector of entire north India while the crashing of its mPay talks amply about the inability as well as the incompetence of the people at J&K in handling its digital affairs.

J&K Bank is the household name in J&K as well as in Ladakh, indicating that the bank is catering to the needs of over 1.36 crore souls across J&K because it is everywhere, be it, Government employees, private employees, they have their association with the J&K Bank, even as commoners have got their savings deposited in the J&K Bank. The point is to state that there is a trust associated with the bank and it cannot afford to let them down at any cost.

On the occasion of Eid, it is very well expected, that people will throng markets for shopping and with the emergence of the trend where ‘cashlessness’ is the key, it is expected that they will go for digital banking, however, they saw nothing, but disappointment, because the online services of J&K Bank were, and still are down. While the country is on the front seat of the digital revolution, J&K, as of now, seems to be lagging far behind.

The event of crashing of the online platform of J&K Bank due to immense load suggests that the bank has not spent enough over the years for the effectiveness as well as the upgradation of its online ecosystem while it should be noted that J&K Bank’s mPay also does not witness frequent, on-and-off updates to fix the bugs and enhance the functioning of the same. While people continue to face the problem, scores of them are going to switch over to other banks in the next some time while those who cannot, will surely use other banking applications, pushing the digital endeavours of J&K bank further down.

What it is interesting here to note, and which also points towards the non-seriousness of the authorities at J&K Bank, is that, even as people are suffering and continue to post their issues on the social media platform, the J&K Bank has not so far bothered to rectify the issues, nor has it issued any statement, informing people about the nature of the issue as well as the time it would take to rectify the issue. There is a need for J&K Bank to wake up from its deep slumber and ensure that hassle-free services are provided to people, moreover, more and more spending is needed for ensuring a seamless online experience for the customers.
