J&K reports one death, 741 fresh cases

'Srinagar registers spike of 239 cases'

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tuesday reported 741  fresh cases of Covid-19, pushing the number of active cases to 4,846 while one more death was reported in the UT in last 24 hours taking death toll to 4,773.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 741 new cases, 515 belong to Kashmir division while as 226 to Jammu division.

He said that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir have reached to 294,149 including 288,537 recoveries and 2,429 deaths, while total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 171,755 including 167,748 recoveries and 2,344 deaths.

He further said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,846 including 3,183 from Kashmir division and 1,663 from Jammu division.

With 445 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in J&K has reached to 456,285 which is 97.94 percent of the total cases.

“Among the fresh 741 cases today, 239 are from Srinagar, 125 from Baramulla, 42 from Budgam, 14 from Pulwama  38 from Kupwara, 14 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 20 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while 236 are from Jammu division that include 129 from Jammu district, 14 from Udhampur, 16 from Rajouri, 24 from Doda, 07 from Kuthua , 03 from Samba, 03 from Kishtwar, 02 from Poonch, 25 from Ramban and 03 from Reasi,” said the official.

As per the daily information bulletin 6,697,918 persons in J&K are under observation while 131 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides 4,846 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 6,687,883 persons have completed the surveillance period and 285 persons are under home surveillance besides so far results of 26,153,662 samples are available.

“Out of 26,153,662 the number of samples tested negative stands at 25,687,758 while 465,904 have tested positive, among them 4,846 cases are active, 456,285 have recovered and 4,773 persons have died,” it added—(KNO)
