UDHAMPUR, SEPTEMBER 28: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute District Centre Udhampur, in collaboration with Government Polytechnic, conducted a boot camp under startup idea challenge 2.0 at the college premises today, providing students and aspiring entrepreneurs a platform to showcase innovative ideas and learn about the startup ecosystem.
As many as 110 candidates who participated, 13 pitched their ideas before a jury panel and five were shortlisted for the next level of the challenge.
College Principal Er. Vivek Mahajan inaugurated the programme in the presence of Functional Manager, DIC Udhampur Jagdeep Singh, Associate Project Manager, JKEDI Jammu Campus Abilash Baroo, guest speaker and entrepreneur Shubham Sharma and faculty members.
DNO JKEDI Udhampur Yash Paul Sharma welcomed participants and outlined the objectives of the challenge, encouraging them to identify real-world problems and develop viable solutions.
Er. Vivek Mahajan appreciated JKEDI’s initiative and stressed the importance of fostering innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among students. Jagdeep Singh motivated young minds to become startup entrepreneurs and drivers of the J&K economy.
Shubham Sharma shared his entrepreneurial journey and the challenges and opportunities of building a startup, while Abilash Baroo briefed participants on the J&K Startup Policy 2024–27 and offered guidance on structuring and pitching ideas.
The programme was coordinated by Subash Singh of Government Polytechnic College and Yash Paul Sharma of JKEDI Udhampur, with support from faculty of both institutions.
