JAMMU, APRIL 23: The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Thursday commenced a three-day field training program for census operations across areas falling under its jurisdiction. The initiative has been undertaken in pursuance of a communication received from the ORGC/ Directorate of Census Operations, J&K, regarding the scheduling of training sessions.
Principal Census Officer (Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation) Dr. Devansh Yadav directed all concerned officers to actively participate in all sessions and strictly adhere to the prescribed training modules. “The success of the census exercise depends upon disciplined execution and thorough preparedness at every level,” he emphasized.
Dr. Yadav further highlighted the critical importance of accuracy, transparency and inter-departmental coordination during the whole census exercise. He underscored that a well-trained and committed workforce forms the backbone of credible and efficient data collection, which is essential for informed planning and developmental initiatives.
The training program, being conducted from April 23 to April 25, 2026, has been designed for Field Trainers, Census Clerks-in-Charge and Technical Assistants. It aims to equip participants with the requisite skills, technical know-how and operational guidelines to ensure the smooth and efficient conduct of the upcoming Census activities.
The program is being conducted under the supervision of Rajeev Kumar Khajuria, City Census Officer and Joint Commissioner (Administration). Besides Ankush Kapoor, Chief Informatics Officer, JMC (Master Trainer, Census 2027), Nimrat Kaur, Nodal Officer Census for JMC along with Jatinder Kumar, Master Trainer from the Directorate of Census Operations, are managing the logistical and technical arrangements to ensure seamless execution of the training sessions.
