RAMBAN, JULY 04: Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) Ramban, along with MVD Doda, conducted a joint enforcement drive at Karol along National Highway-44 today.
ARTO Ramban supervised the drive to ensure compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act and promote road safety during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
During the drive, 42 vehicles were checked for compliance with traffic rules and road safety norms. Eight vehicles were e-challaned for violations under the Motor Vehicles Act, with an expected penalty of ₹69,000, and two driving licences were recommended for suspension for serious violations.
ARTO Ramban advised vehicle owners and drivers to follow traffic regulations, carry valid documents and keep their vehicles roadworthy to avoid legal action.
The MVD said such joint drives in coordination with the district police and neighbouring districts, will continue across Ramban to curb traffic violations and ensure the safety of commuters and pilgrims during the Yatra.
