Kathua: District Level Committee reviews progress under PMAY-Urban 2.0

KATHUA, JULY 18: A meeting of the District Level Committee for the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0) was today chaired by Deputy Commissioner Dr Rakesh Minhas here in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex to review the status and progress under the flagship Housing Scheme for the Urban Poor.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Ranjit Thakur; District Social Welfare Officer, Varun Chaudhary; Lead Bank Manager, CEO Municipal Council Kathua and Executive Officers of Municipal Committees Nagri, Lakhanpur, Basohli and Billawar.

The DC took a detailed review of the applications submitted by the eligible households under the scheme and sought the updates from the concerned municipal authorities.

The Executive Officer Municipal Council Kathua informed that out of 47 cases received, 2 have been approved while the rest are under process. The Executive Officer Municipal Committee Billawar reported that out of 52 cases, 3 have been approved and the rest were rejected for not meeting the set norms.

The meeting was further informed that in Municipal Committee Hiranagar, a total of 72 applications were received, of which 12 were rejected, 39 verified and 21 approved. The Executive Officer Municipal Committee Nagri informed that out of 192 applications received, 18 have been rejected, 3 approved and the remaining are under process, while in Municipal Committee Basohli, 45 applications were received, of which 6 were approved and equal number are under process and the rest have been rejected.

The DC directed all officers present to complete the scrutiny and processing of all pending cases within 15 days. He emphasized the importance of ensuring transparency and timely disposal of applications so that eligible beneficiaries are able to avail benefits under the centrally sponsored housing scheme.
