KATHUA, APRIL 24: A special programme was today organized in the Conference Hall of the DC Office Kathua to commemorate National Panchayati Raj Day 2025. The event featured the live streaming of the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address from Madhubani, Bihar, where he distributed the National Panchayat Awards and launched several key developmental projects aimed at strengthening grassroots governance across the nation.
The event in Kathua witnessed the enthusiastic participation of senior district officials and local governance representatives. Chairman DDC, Col (Retd) Mahan Singh, Additional District Development Commissioner Surinder Mohan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishavjeet Singh, Chief Planning Officer Ranjit Thakur, Assistant Commissioner Panchayats (ACP), District Panchayat Officer (DPO), and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries highlighted the significance of Panchayati Raj Institutions in fostering democratic values and bringing governance closer to the people. They reiterated the administration’s commitment to promoting participatory development and empowering rural communities through effective implementation of schemes and active public involvement.
