SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 02: The Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), Srinagar, celebrated Gandhi Jayanti on 2nd October 2025 at the District Office at Industrial Estate, Baghi Ali Mardan Khan Nowshera Srinagar.
District Officer, KVIB Srinagar, Tanveer Ahmad Wani, emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship as a cornerstone of Atma Nirbhar Bharat, aligning with Gandhi’s philosophy of Swadeshi and grassroots economic development. “Self-reliance is the key to a prosperous India,” the officer stated. “Through entrepreneurship, we empower individuals to create opportunities, drive economic growth, and contribute to the nation’s self-sufficiency. This is Gandhi’s legacy in action.”
He reiterated that Gandhi’s ideals of self-reliance and rural empowerment are more relevant today than ever. “A self-reliant village ensures a self-reliant nation. Through entrepreneurship, we are building resilient communities, reducing unemployment, and fostering innovation,” the officer said, urging local youth and artisans to take advantage of KVIB’s initiatives.
During the event, the Wani handed over sponsorship letters to budding entrepreneurs from Rural Areas of Srinagar who had applied under J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme.
