SHOPIAN, JUNE 02: KVK-Shopian, SKUAST-K organized awareness programmes under the “Khet Bachao Abhiyan” at Thearin and Gatipora villages of Shopian with the objective of promoting sustainable agricultural practices and creating awareness regarding the balanced use of fertilizers.
The campaign focused on enhancing soil health, improving nutrient use efficiency, and encouraging scientific nutrient management among growers.
During the programme, KVK scientists highlighted the importance of soil test-based fertilizer application and emphasized the judicious use of major and micronutrients for maintaining soil fertility and achieving higher crop productivity.
Participants were sensitized about the adverse effects of excessive and imbalanced fertilizer use on soil health, crop performance, and the environment.
