RAMBAN, SEPTEMBER 13: An Awareness Camp was organized by the Labour Department Ramban at Town Hall, Banihal to sensitize workers about various labour laws and welfare schemes.
The programme witnessed active participation of construction workers, stakeholders and CSC operators.
During the camp, the officials briefed the workers about the provisions and benefits of the Building and Other Construction Workers (BOCW) Act and highlighted various welfare measures extended under JKBOCWWB.
Special emphasis was laid on educating the participants about social security and insurance schemes, including Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) and Atal Pension Yojana.
On-spot registration and enrolment for these schemes were facilitated at the camp in collaboration with J&K Bank officials. About 70 Forms for PMJJBY AND PMSBY were distributed among the Workers.
An interactive session was conducted to educate workers about labour laws and social security initiatives. All their issues were heard attentively and appropriate solutions were provided.
The initiative aimed at generating greater awareness among construction workers about their rights and entitlements while encouraging them to avail themselves of available benefits under Government welfare.
