Srinagar, Oct 14: Vivek Khushalani, Founder and Chairman of Legends Cricket League (LCL) T20, and renowned commentator and former Team India captain Ravi Shastri, met National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah at his Gupkar residence on Monday.
During the meeting, the two discussed promoting sports, particularly cricket, in Jammu and Kashmir, with Omar Abdullah, who is expected to take the oath as the Chief Minister of J&K this week, following his party’s assembly election victory.
Omar emphasized that the youth of Kashmir possess immense skill and talent but require the right guidance and opportunities. “I hope that organizing tournaments like the Legends League will encourage the youth here towards sports,” he said.
The meeting comes as the final leg of the Legends League Cricket T20 is currently being held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, with participation from several national and international players. The tournament’s final is set to take place on October 16.
