PULWAMA, JULY 01: In a significant step towards strengthening financial inclusion in the district, Lead Bank Pulwama today launched a three-month Financial Inclusion Saturation Campaign at Circuit House, Pulwama.

The campaign will run from 01 July to 30 September 2025, with the objective of achieving saturation under flagship financial schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Atal Pension Yojana (APY), and Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY).

The event witnessed the presence of Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD), Pulwama, Dr. Peerzada Syed Farhat Ahmad; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pulwama; branch managers of various J&K Bank branches; representatives of other banks operating in the district; officers from various line departments; members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs); and Banking Correspondents.

Speaking on the occasion, Lead District Manager (LDM) Pulwama gave a detailed overview on the scope and benefits of these financial schemes. He emphasised the need for proactive outreach by bank branches to ensure that all eligible beneficiaries in the district are covered.

He also shared a comprehensive action plan outlining specific targets and strategies to be implemented in collaboration with stakeholders over the next three months.

In his address, ACD Pulwama underlined the critical role of community awareness in ensuring the success of the campaign. He called upon banks and government departments to organise Panchayat-level awareness and registration camps, enabling last-mile delivery of these welfare schemes.

He further stressed the importance of inter-departmental coordination, especially with rural development, labour, and social welfare departments, to streamline efforts and achieve saturation in targets of these schemes.

The event also featured an engaging discussion on various operational and logistical aspects related to the implementation of these schemes, including use of digital platforms, mobilisation strategies, and grievance redressal mechanisms.

Participants shared insights and challenges faced at the grassroots level and explored collaborative solutions to accelerate enrolments.
