BUDGAM, MARCH 22: A comprehensive cleanliness drive was conducted today in several panchayats and municipalities of district Budgam.

At the main market area in Hardpanzoo, legacy waste was cleared and new dustbins were installed. Shopkeepers were also advised to refrain from open waste disposal in Block Sukhnag.

As a part of the ongoing legacy waste clearance initiative in Block Rathsun, waste was removed from Panchayat Halqa Rathsun B and Bonmakhama, including areas along the roads and around the BDO office.
Residents have been urged to segregate wet and dry waste at home to foster sustainable waste management practices.

The legacy waste clearance is a vital step towards creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment. Unmanaged waste poses significant risks to public health and the local ecosystem.

In response, district administration Budgam in collaboration with the Department of Rural Development and urban local bodies has intensified efforts to clear legacy waste and clean water bodies across the district.
Block Soibugh, has launched a campaign across all panchayats to address these issues. Additional cleanliness drives were carried out near Army Camp Dharmuna, Wadwan.

Similarly, in Municipal Committees of Chadoora, Budgam, etc cleanliness drive was conducted.
The drives will continue as part of the broader mission to improve sanitation and environmental conservation across Budgam.
