PULWAMA, NOVEMBER 09: In observance of ‘Legal Services Day,’ the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Pulwama, under the chairmanship of Naseer Ahmad Dar (Principal District & Sessions Judge, Pulwama), organized a special awareness program in collaboration with Government Degree College for Women, Pulwama.
This event was conducted under the supervision of Mudasar Farooq, Secretary DLSA Pulwama, and held in the conference hall of the college.
Dr. Nisar Ahmad Wani, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at Government Degree College for Women Pulwama emphasized the significance of Legal Services Day and its impact on empowering citizens with legal knowledge.
During the program, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel (LADC) Mehraj-ud-din Wani and Assistant LADC Ashaq Hussain highlighted the role and importance of legal aid services and the function of Legal Services institutions at district and tehsil levels.
They spoke on essential aspects such as free legal aid, pre-litigation, mediation, conciliation, and arbitration, stressing the need for special awareness campaigns to educate the public about these resources.
Prof. Aijaz Manzoor, Convener of Legal Affairs at GDC Women Pulwama, also addressed the gathering on the scope and activities of Legal Services in India. Prof. Syed Gulzar, Staff Secretary at GDC Women Pulwama, along with a large gathering of students, faculty, DLSA staff, and Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), attended the event.
