Lok Sabha Elections 2024: General Observer Reviews Electoral Preparedness in Sopore and Rafiabad

BARAMULLA, MAY 10: Deependra Singh Kushwash, General Observer for 1-Baramulla Parliamentary Constituency, conducted a comprehensive inspection today in the 07-Sopore and 08-Rafiabad Assembly Constituencies to assess the readiness for the Lok Sabha Elections.

Accompanied by Shabir Ahmad Raina, ARO Sopore and SSP Sopore, Divya Dev, General Observer reviewed the arrangements in place at designated strong room for Sopore and Rafiabad Assembly Constituencies at SKUAST Wadoora.

The ARO briefed the General Observer about EVM storage procedures, material management and distribution and collection protocols in place to efficiently handle the electoral process. On the occasion, Deependra Singh engaged with polling staff, providing them necessary guidance to ensure effective election management.
During the visit, the General Observer inspected the polling stations, including Noorpora Sopore, focused on assessing facilities and addressing any concerns regarding Assured Minimum Facilities (AMFs) as per ECI guidelines.

In an effort to maximize voter participation, General Observer flagged-off a SVEEP program at Govt. Higher Secondary School Sopore, followed by a signature campaign, to encourage the young voters to wholeheartedly participate in the Lok Sabha Elections in 1-Baramulla PC on 20th of May.
Expressing satisfaction with the arrangements made by the administration, the General Observer commended the innovative measures implemented to enhance voter turnout in the upcoming elections.
