Sonamarg, Aug 19 : Following the instructions of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA), a large-scale demolition drive was conducted in Sonamarg on Monday.
As per the news agency, the operation, aimed at curbing illegal constructions in the region, was carried out by SDA employees with the full support and cooperation of the Sonamarg Police.
The day-long drive was initiated following multiple complaints received by the SDA regarding unauthorized constructions in Sonamarg.
In response, the CEO of the Sonamarg Development Authority soon after assuming the charge directed for immediate action to address these violations.
As a result, several illegal structures were demolished, reaffirming the authority’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of Sonamarg’s natural beauty and legal construction standards.
The CEO SDA has issued a stern warning to the public, emphasizing that illegal construction in Sonamarg will not be tolerated under any circumstances. The authority will continue to take stringent action against any further violations to preserve the eco fragile environment of the place, he said
