UDHAMPUR, MARCH 24: A Mega entrepreneurship mela-cum-job fair under the flagship initiative Mission YUVA was organized by the District Employment and Counselling Centre Udhampur with the objective of promoting entrepreneurship among youth and women while facilitating employment opportunities.

The event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Minga Sherpa, in the presence of Additional District Development Commissioner Jugal Kishore, GM DIC Kishore Singh Katoch, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Dr. Umesh Shan and President Beopar Mandal Jitender Barmani.

The programme witnessed an overwhelming response, recording a footfall of around 700 participants, including aspiring entrepreneurs, job seekers and the general public. More than 20 reputed companies participated in the job fair, offering employment opportunities across diverse sectors.

While addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated the efforts of the Employment Department in organizing the mega event and urged the youth and general public to actively come forward and avail maximum benefits from various government schemes.

Various government departments, Self Help Groups and local entrepreneurs set up informative stalls showcasing their initiatives and products. The Deputy Commissioner also took a detailed round of the stalls and interacted with the participants.

The event featured a range of engaging activities, including demonstrations of yoga practices and postures, sharing of success stories under Mission YUVA and inspiring experiences of NRLM Self Help Groups, highlighting their journey towards financial independence and self-reliance. A theatrical skit was also presented to generate awareness about entrepreneurship and available government support mechanisms.

The programme concluded with a formal vote of thanks presented by the ADDC, who expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, participating departments, companies and attendees for their active support in making the event a grand success.
