Mega Health awareness Mela held at Medical Zone S. R. Gunj

Srinagar: In connection with ongoing Block Health Melas, the Medical Zone S. R. Gunj  Wednesday organised a Mega Health Camp at Zonal Headquarter in collaboration with the District Administration and Department of National Health Mission.

The Mela was inaugurated by Chief Medical Officer Srinagar, Dr. Jameel Ahmad Mir, while Zonal Medical Officer, Dr Shafaqat and other senior health functionaries were also present at the event.

The Health Mela was held on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad during which all Specialists including Gynae/Obst, Paediatrician, Orthopaedic, Surgeon, Ophthalmologist, General Medicine, Endocrinologist, Physiotherapist, ENT Specialist, Dermatologist, Psychiatrist and YOGA Trainer besides special counters for registration of Golden cards and ABHA cards were established.

In addition, facilities for NCD RBSK, Food Safety, Tele Consultation, Ayush OPD and TB Screening were also provided to the visiting patients.

Moreover, proper Counselling and Guidance was also provided to all visitors regarding various Health Schemes and their benefits. While Free medicine/ Lab Tests/USG/TSH/ were done on spot.

During the Health Mela, over 1500 patients visited the Mela and got benefited from the facilities.

Pertinently, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India has directed the Health Department of J&K to conduct Health Melas in every Medical Block mass awareness of the people.
