UDHAMPUR, MARCH 15: To educate the voters, an awareness program under SVEEP was organised at Government High School Nalla Mallian, Assembly Constituency Ramnagar by Nodal officer Pawan Kumar Sharma, the Zone Educational Officer Ghordhi and Principal HSS Ghordi.
The event was part of a series of SVEEP programmes chalked out by ERO (SDM) Ramnagar Rafiq Ahmad Jaral on the direction of District Election Officer Udhampur Saloni Rai.
The event encompassed varied activities, including songs, street plays (nukkad natak) focusing on the public awareness particularly Nomads and Gadhi tribal voters.
The Young and women voters were engaged in different sports activities like Kho-Kho, Tug of War etc. The local residents of all ages participated in the programme and fervently advocated for achieving a 100% voter turnout in the forthcoming elections.
During the event, Nodal Officer elucidated the voting rights of citizens and highlighted the special provision of the Election Commission of India for elderly and disabled voters. He underscored the significance of active participation in the electoral process.
Booth Level Officers received directives to extend assistance to individuals encountering any challenges related to voting and the election procedures.
The primary objective of the programme was to educate and motivate voters to participate actively in democracy by exercising their voting rights, ensuring that every voice is heard, and every vote contributes to shaping the nation’s future.
Meanwhile, a review meeting chaired by Dr. Manmeet Kumar, SDM Dudu was held today involving Officers/ Officials of allied Departments. The SDM Dudu gave necessary instructions regarding timely achievement of targets, prompt disposal of public grievances and holding outreach programmes to extend benefit of the government schemes to the public.
