DODA, DECEMBER 30: The District Employment and Counselling Centre Doda on Tuesday organised a Women Entrepreneurship and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) Mela, here under the Mission YUVA. The event was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner, Harvinder Singh as the chief guest. Around 650 individuals, including women entrepreneurs and SHG members from across the district participated in the Mela.
Officers from the line departments provided on-the-spot guidance to participants regarding start-up schemes, financial assistance, skill training programmes, credit support and market linkage available under Mission YUVA Framework. Women entrepreneurs and SHG members displayed a wide range of products, including handicrafts, embroidery work, handloom items, garments, processed food items, traditional craft products and other micro-enterprise outputs, reflecting the creativity and entrepreneurial potential of the local women.
Interacting with the participants, the Deputy Commissioner appreciated their efforts and encouraged them to further strengthen and expand their enterprises by availing benefits under Mission YUVA and other allied schemes.
The mela proved to be a significant step towards women empowerment in the district enhancing awareness about entrepreneurship opportunities, boosting confidence among women and reaffirming the district administration’s commitment to supporting women-led enterprises.
