Bandipora, October 12: To mark 75 years of India’s Independence under ‘Meri Maati Mera Desh’ campaign , Municipal Council (MC) Bandipora Thursday organised ‘Amrit Kalash Yatra’ at Bandipora.
The Chairman MC Bandipora Basharat Najar flagged-off the yatra in the presence of Executive Officer Aijaz Ahmad Khan, municipal councillor, and residents residents of Bandipora.
During the Yatra soil,rice was collected in Amrit Kalash from every ward. The Amrit Kalash was later transported to district headquarters Bandipora.
On the occasion, families of the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the Nation, were felicitated with awards and mementos.
