Srinagar, July 11 : Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) Ghulam Ali Khatana held a Public Darbar at the BJP Headquarters in Jawahar Nagar, Srinagar, where he interacted with a large number of delegations, citizens, and party workers who raised issues related to development, infrastructure, and employment.
Khatana attentively heard public grievances and assured the attendees that their concerns would be taken up with the concerned departments for swift redressal. The Public Darbar was part of the BJP’s ongoing outreach initiative aimed at fostering direct engagement with the people and promoting transparent, accountable governance at the grassroots level.
Speaking to the media after the interaction, MP Khatana launched a sharp critique of the National Conference (NC) and Congress, accusing them of misleading the people of Jammu and Kashmir for decades.
“NC and Congress have thrived on turning non-issues into sensitive matters just to remain politically relevant. Instead of steering the region toward progress, they kept it entangled in confusion and underdevelopment,” he said.
Khatana praised the BJP-led government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing transformation to J&K through peace, development, and technological advancement.
“For the first time, youth from Jammu and Kashmir are being connected to national platforms of innovation, education, and employment. Earlier governments never prioritized this kind of integration,” he added.
He also highlighted the ongoing Bharat Sanrachna Exhibition at SKICC, Srinagar, calling it a remarkable showcase of India’s technological and infrastructural strength.
“From ISRO to DRDO, this exhibition reflects the new India—innovative, ambitious, and inclusive. I urge the youth to visit and see how India is building its future with world-class capabilities,” Khatana said.
The MP lauded Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha for his leadership and commitment to good governance. He noted that under the LG’s guidance, development projects in J&K are being implemented with greater efficiency, transparency, and public participation.
Reaffirming the BJP’s commitment to inclusive development, Khatana emphasized the party’s focus on empowering youth, women, and marginalized communities, adding that the BJP remains dedicated to building a peaceful, progressive, and future-ready Jammu and Kashmir.
