DODA, JULY 19: In a significant crackdown, the Motor Vehicle Department Doda (MVD), under the supervision and guidance of ARTO Doda Rajesh Gupta, suspended 22 driving licenses of commercial drivers for three months in the downtown area of Doda. The operation targeted various traffic violations, reinforcing the department’s commitment to road safety.

The extensive operation against traffic violators involved MVD inspectors and other officials from the Motor Vehicle Department. The crackdown is part of an ongoing initiative by MVD Doda to curb dangerous driving practices and enforce traffic regulations strictly. Violations included over speeding, not wearing seat belts, overloading, driving without speed limit devices, riding without helmets, lacking pollution certificates, vehicle alterations, and missing High-Security Registration Plates (HSRP).

In addition to the suspensions, 128 drivers were challaned, and a total amount of Rs. 351,500 was realized from fines over the last seven days.

ARTO Rajesh Gupta emphasized that the primary reasons behind the suspension of driving licenses were to ensure public safety and reduce road accidents. He stated that such stringent measures are necessary to discourage reckless driving and promote adherence to traffic laws among the commercial driver community.

The MVD team also highlighted the importance of regular monitoring and strict enforcement to maintain discipline on the roads. This operation aims to set a precedent and encourage all drivers to follow traffic rules diligently, ensuring a safer environment for all road users.
