SHOPIAN, APRIL 15: Under the ongoing ‘100 Days Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Campaign 2026’, the Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS), District Shopian, today organized a series of sports based awareness activities across the district to engage youth and reinforce the message of a drug free society.

The activities were conducted at multiple educational institutions including GHSS Shopian, HSS Sedow, HS Pahnoo, and Gunj Baksh Hanfia Public High School Arhama, witnessing active participation from students.

As part of the campaign, sports tournaments on the theme of “Say No to Drugs” were organized, including cricket, football, and kabaddi competitions.

These activities aimed to channelize the energy of youth into positive and constructive pursuits while simultaneously spreading awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.

Students actively participated in the events, which also featured interactive sessions, discussions, and motivational inputs highlighting the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug addiction.

Emphasis was laid on adopting a healthy lifestyle, discipline, and the role of youth in building a drug-free society.
The programme also focused on sensitizing students about resisting negative influences and making informed life choices.

Trainers and officials encouraged participants to take responsibility as ambassadors of change within their communities.

A total of 167 students, including 98 boys and 69 girls, participated enthusiastically in the activities, reflecting strong engagement and awareness among the youth.
