According to the news agency, the meeting unanimously decided to put up a united face at every to ensure alliance candidate wins this seat. From NC side most of the party leaders from Chenab valley including former ministers Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy and Sajad Kichloo, senior leaders Mehbooba Iqbal, Sajad Shaheen and others attended the meet whereas from Congress party former MLC Naresh Gupta, general secretary Sheikh Riaz Ahmed and others participated. NC provincial president Rattan Lal Gupta, Ajay Sadhotra, Aijaz Jan and others were also present.

We have no other option but to get united,” Farooq Abdullah told the meeting.

The NC president made it clear that Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) has fielded Ghulam Muhammad Saroori to cut Muslim votes so that it can benefit the BJP. “This is the time to reach out to the people at the grassroot level and tell people about the actual motive of DPAP. Everybody has to campaign at booth level, block level and district level,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Congress candidate Choudhary Lal Singh said that everybody has to work hard to ensure victory. “If they (BJP) think that they will be able to get Hindu votes form Kathua and Udhampur districts, they are day dreaming. Vikar Rasool also echoed the same and pledged to work hard to show the BJP doors.
