Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Friday carried searches at multiple locations in Jammu and Kashmir in a criminal conspiracy case for spreading of terrorist activities by various militant groups, officials said on Friday.
They said NIA sleuths with the assistance of police and CRPF carried out raids in several districts including Kulgam, Pulwama, Anantnag, Sopore and Jammu.
“During the searches conducted today, various incriminating materials such as digital devices, SIM cards and digital storage devices etc. have been seized from the searched premises,” NIA spokesperson said.
The case had been suo-moto registered on June 22, 2022 by NIA Police Station, Jammu.
The case pertains to the criminal conspiracy for carrying out terrorist & subversive activities hatched by the cadres and overground workers of various proscribed organizations and their affiliates/off-shoots, operating under various pseudo names, at the behest of their Pakistani commanders/handlers, the spokesperson said.
“They are involved in carrying out terrorist attacks by using cyber-space in J&K, targeting of minorities, security personnel and spreading communal disharmony.
Further investigation in the case continues, the NIA said.
