Night temp dips further, Pahalgam coldest at minus 4.3 degree Celsius

Srinagar, Dec 05: The night temperature has recorded a further dip in Jammu and Kashmir as the mercury in most of the areas except Kokernag settled below freezing point in the Valley, official data reads.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir has recorded a dip in the night temperature as the mercury settled at minus 1.4 degree Celsius while Pahalgam, a tourist resort, was coldest at minus 4.3 degree Celsius.

Gulmarg, a famous ski-resort, has also recorded a low of minus 2.3 degree Celsius.

Qazigund and Kupwara stations of Kashmir have recorded a low of minus 1.6 degree Celsius and 1.7 degree Celsius respectively.

Kokernag in the southern district recorded a minimum temperature of 0.2 degree Celsius.

Pertinently, the weatherman had predicted further fall in the minimum temperature across Kashmir, saying that the mercury is expected to fall by 3-5 degree Celsius.

Moreover, a local Meteorological department here has predicted dry and cloudy weather conditions till December 10 across Jammu & Kashmir.

“There is no forecast of any wet spell till December 10, but the weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy during the period,” Director MeT, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad said—(KNO)
