BARAMULLA, APRIL 29: As part of its unwavering commitment to promote a healthy and drug-free society and on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Youth Services and Sports (YSS), Baramulla, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department Baramulla, launched Zonal Level Open Volleyball Tournaments under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan (NMBA) across various zones of the district.

Today, Zone Dangerpora hosted a spirited volleyball match under this initiative at Higher Secondary School Dangerpora. A highly competitive match was played between Cluster Tujjer and Cluster Dangerpora, reflecting the enthusiasm and active participation of youth in spreading the message of a drug-free lifestyle through sports.
Simultaneously, Zone Sopore began its NMBA Volleyball tournament at Boys Higher Secondary School Sopore.

Adding to the momentum, Zone Singpora Pattan also joined the campaign by organizing an open volleyball tournament at High School Malmooh Pattan. The event attracted vibrant participation, showcasing the strong grassroots-level support for the NMBA initiative.

Furthermore, Zone Uri concluded its leg of the NMBA Volleyball Tournament with six local teams participating in an energetic and disciplined competition. The final match crowned Nambla Club as the winners of the tournament, earning appreciation from spectators and officials alike.

These tournaments not only emphasize the role of sports in building healthy communities but also serve as powerful platforms for spreading awareness about the detrimental effects of drug abuse among youth.

The Youth Services and Sports Baramulla reaffirms its dedication to empowering young people through such purposeful initiatives in coordination with key government departments.
