KULGAM, DECEMBER 30: One-day Women Entrepreneurship cum SHG Mela under Mission YUVA was organized today at GHSS Qaimoh with the objective of promoting women led enterprises and strengthening Self-Help Groups.
The event was inaugurated by the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kulgam, Altaf Ahmad Khan who interacted with participants and inspected stalls established by Women SHG’s, Employment Department, Lead Bank, and One Stop Centre for Women.
The programme was attended by Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officer (SDAO) Qaimoh, Career Counselling Officer DE&CC Kulgam, District Programme Manager/Block Programme Managers (NRLM), Bank Officials, SHG members, and aspiring women entrepreneurs.
The event featured structured presentations, deliberations, and speeches conducted as per the devised schedule, focusing on entrepreneurship development, financial inclusion, and institutional support mechanisms.
In his address, ADDC Kulgam highlighted the commitment of District administration Kulgam towards women empowerment, emphasizing the importance of integrating promising women SHG members with the ambitious Mission YUVA to ensure sustainable livelihood opportunities and inclusive economic growth.
During the programme, successful SHG women entrepreneurs shared their inspiring success stories, motivating participants and providing practical insights into enterprise development and sustainability.
In recognition of outstanding performance, successful women entrepreneurs and best-performing SHG stalls were felicitated. Further, sanction letters were distributed among eligible women beneficiaries sponsored under Mission YUVA, reinforcing efforts towards livelihood promotion and economic empowerment.
The Mela served as an effective convergence platform for multiple stakeholders, enabling experience sharing, capacity building, market exposure, and awareness generation, thereby significantly contributing to the objectives of Mission YUVA and overall women empowerment.
