New Delhi, Dec 06: Union Home Minister Amit Shah Wednesday said that Kashmir suffered due to the two major blunders committed by Pandit Jawhar Lal Nehru when he was the Prime Minister of India.

“Let me state this on record today that Kashmir suffered due to the two blunders committed by Pandit Nehru: One, Nehru announced ceasefire when our forces had won upto Punjab.

Had he delayed the ceasefire announcement by three days, Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) would have been with us today,” Shah told the Parliament, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

His statement created an uproar in the House with opposition leaders accusing the Home Minister of distorting the history and levelling wrong allegations against Pt Nehru. Amid noise from the opposition desks, Shah continued to explain his statement adding that he was making the statement with full responsibility.

“It is the Nehruvian blunder due to which Kashmir suffered a lot. Second blunder of Nehru was when he took the Kashmir issue to the United Nations. This decision was taken in a hurry,” the Home Minister said. He said first there was no need to take the issue to UN as nowhere in the country were people asked their choice—(KNO)
