Srinagar: Tourism players in Pahalgam are feeling jubilant as the number of tourists visiting the tourist destination is witnessing an uptick this season after many years.

Aarif Ahmad, a pony wala told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that they earn their livelihood out of horse riding and his income is proportional to the rush of visitors. Same is the case with shopkeepers who shut their shops in winters as the place sees thin footfall. But this winter, the flow of tourists increased giving them hope for a bumper tourist season in summers.

Javaid Ahmad, a hotelier told KNO that the season is going quite well this time and the hotel occupancy of hotels has reached 90 percent.

An official of the tourism department told KNO that tourism season is in full bloom in Pahalgam and almost 3000-3500 tourists are visiting on a daily basis.

He said that about 8000-9000 tourists stay for night at Pahalgam—(KNO)
