RAJOURI, APRIL 02: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma today flagged off an awareness vehicle here from Dak Bungalow to educate the public about the ongoing Panchayat Electoral Rolls Revision 2026.
The awareness campaign Van shall cover every panchayat of the district, disseminating information through public announcements and distribution of IEC material.
Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of inclusive and error-free electoral rolls for strengthening grassroots democracy. He urged all eligible citizens, especially those who have attained the age of 18 years on or before April 1, 2026, to get themselves registered as voters within the stipulated timeline.
It was informed that the Panchayat Electoral Rolls Revision is being conducted from March 27 to May 8, 2026. Citizens can approach their respective Panchayat Election Booth Officers (PEBO), Electoral Registration Officers (ERO), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO) or the office of the concerned Block Development Officer for registration, correction, deletion or transposition of entries.
Special camps are also being organized on designated dates across the district to facilitate on-the-spot registration and grievance redressal.
The District Administration has appealed to the general public to actively participate in the revision process and contribute towards strengthening democratic institutions at the grassroots level.
