Srinagar: Police in Awantipora have arrested one drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.
A Police Party at a checkpoint established near Braw Bandina intercepted one person identified as Sajad Ahmad Pala resident of Braw Bandina. During search, 1kg and 700 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody, the spokesman said.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 135/2022 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated, he added.
