BANDIPORA, JANUARY 01: In connection with the celebration of Republic Day 2026, a preparatory meeting of officers of Sumbal Sub-Division was held today under the chairmanship of Sub Divisional Magistrate, Sumbal, Murtaza Ahmad Sheikh at Dak Bungalow, Irrigation Colony, Sumbal.
During the meeting, the SDM reviewed arrangements related to security, parade, cultural programmes, public participation, sanitation, power and water supply, healthcare facilities, traffic regulation and overall coordination among departments to ensure smooth and dignified celebrations on January 26.
The SDM stressed upon effective inter-departmental coordination and directed all concerned officers to ensure timely completion of assigned responsibilities. He emphasized that arrangements should reflect the spirit of national pride while ensuring safety and convenience of the general public.
Security agencies were directed to put in place a robust security and traffic management plan, while the Health Department was asked to keep medical teams and ambulances on standby. Line departments were instructed to ensure uninterrupted essential services during the celebrations.
The meeting concluded with directions to all concerned to work in close coordination to ensure that the Republic Day function is celebrated smoothly and peacefully.
The meeting was attended by tehsildar Sumbal,Syed Shabbar Sarwar; Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sumbal, Mohammad Nawaz Khanday; BDO Sumbal, Block Medical Officer, besides officers from CRPF, R&B, PDD, I&FC, Jal Shakti, MID Shadipora, Education, Health, Municipal Committees, Agriculture, Horticulture, Fisheries, Sericulture, Floriculture, Fire and Emergency Services and other line departments.
