Preparatory meeting for International Day of Yoga-2025 held at Shopian

SHOPIAN, JUNE 13: In connection with the forthcoming International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2025, a preparatory meeting was today convened under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shopian, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz at the Mini- Secretariat Shopian.

At the outset, ADC reviewed the proposed activities and arrangements being made for the grand celebration of International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2025 across the district. He laid emphasis on ensuring wide public participation, particularly involving school and college students, employees, security personnel, sports associations, NGOs and local yoga enthusiasts.

He said that a grand yoga event will be held at Mini-Secretariat Shopian, and reviewed the preparations for conduct of Yoga events at higher and school education institutions, Ayush Health & Wellness Centres and other places.

ADC underlined that the International Day of Yoga is a significant initiative aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being. He stressed inter-departmental synergy and timely completion of all arrangements to ensure a well-organized and enthusiastic observance of the day.

He directed all officers to work in close coordination and make the Yoga Day celebrations a grand success across the district.

The meeting was attended by officers of Health, Ayush, Youth Services & Sports, education, GDC Shopian and Zainapora, Information, Police and other departments.
