Srinagar, Mar 30 : Residents of Sheikh Colony, located in Arampora area of Qamarwari, Srinagar on Saturday demanded immediate restoration of drainage system in the locality.
The residents while talking to the news agency said they are facing severe hardships due to the choked drainage system, which has been inundating the roads frequently.
One of the residents said the situation has become unbearable for them. “Every time it rains, our streets resemble small rivers, making it challenging to commute and carry out daily activities,” he added.
Another resident, Riyaz Ahmad stated, “We fear the potential health hazards posed by stagnant water. Mosquito breeding and the spread of diseases are real concerns that need to be addressed promptly.”
“We appeal to the concerned authorities to kindly intervene and resolve this issue at the earliest, as our community deserves better infrastructure to ensure a safe and healthy living environment,” he added.
