RAMBAN, APRIL 10: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting to finalize the arrangements for 100 day Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan starting tomorrow with a grand Padyatra.
The Padyatra shall commence from the District Police Line and culminate at the District Administrative Complex- Maitra.
The Deputy Commissioner exhorted the stakeholder departments to encourage active participation of the public in the campaign and the padyatra. “The initiative aims to mobilize the community and strengthen the collective resolve to eradicate the menace of drugs from society,” he stressed.
The meeting was informed that the inaugural events shall be organised at the district headquarter, Sub-Divisions, tehsils and panchayats, in alignment with the UT-level programme.
The Deputy Commissioner underlined the role and responsibilities of the government departments to ensure the successful conduct of the padyatra and effective implementation of the 100-day campaign. He directed officers to launch the campaign simultaneously in all sub-divisions, tehsils and panchayats and transform it into a mass movement through active public participation.
Stress was laid on sustained involvement of students, youth, volunteers, civil society organisations, public representatives and the general public so that the message of a drug-free society reaches every section of the community.
The meeting also reviewed the department-wise activity plan and discussed the initiatives to be undertaken under the Abhiyaan during the 100-day campaign.
The meeting was attended by ADC Varunjeet Singh Charak; ACR Shoket Hayat Mattoo; CPO Dr. Shakeeb Ahmed Rather; ACD Sheraz Ahmed; Tehsildar Ramban Deep Kumar; Executive Engineers of PWD (R&B) and other district and sectoral officers. SDMs and BDOs also joined the meeting virtually.
Meanwhile, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Gool Imtiaz chaired a comprehensive review meeting to devise a robust and result-oriented strategy for the implementation of the 100-day intensive campaign aimed at eradicating drug abuse and promoting a healthy, addiction-free society.
The SDM directed the concerned departments to prepare detailed panchayat-wise and habitation-wise action plans to ensure effective implementation at the grassroots level. He emphasized the importance of a coordinated and multi-sectoral approach, stressing that every department must actively contribute to the success of the initiative.
