RAMBAN, JULY 16: The District Administration Ramban today conducted training sessions for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) as part of the preparations for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the Photo Electoral Rolls for 2025 in both Ramban and Banihal Assembly Constituencies.

The training session was held in Assembly Constituency (AC)-55 Banihal for 127 BLOs, while 90 BLOs were trained in two batches in AC-54 Ramban. The training sessions will continue tomorrow for the remaining BLOs to ensure complete coverage and proper understanding of the revised guidelines.

District Election Officer (DEO) Mohammad Alyas Khan presided over the training session held at Ramban. Deputy District Election Officer Abdul Jabbar and other senior officers from the district administration were also present during the program.

The training was conducted in accordance with the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI), which has initiated the Special Intensive Revision exercise under Article 324 and relevant provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, with July 1, 2025 as the qualifying date. The primary objective of the revision is to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out and no ineligible individual is included in the electoral rolls.

During the SIR, BLOs will undertake House-to-House Enumeration and provide Enumeration Forms to all existing electors. These forms can also be downloaded by electors. BLOs will collect one copy of the filled form and acknowledge receipt on another copy to be retained by the elector.

The District Election Officer as the BLOs to facilitate vulnerable groups, including senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PwDs) and economically weaker sections to safeguard their electoral rights.

The training sessions are designed to equip BLOs with the necessary technical know-how and procedural clarity for efficient implementation of the SIR.
