RAMBAN, JUNE 26: Social Welfare Department (SWD) Ramban today observed International Day against Drug abuse & Illicit Trafficking with massive ardent participation from all walks of life. Hundreds of institutions including GDCs, Polytechnics, Educational institutions, Health Institutions, and all departments operating in the District observed the day with great enthusiasm.
The main event was held in Panchayat Kanthi on the directions of DC Baseer-Ul-Haq Chaudhary and under the overall supervision of District Social Welfare Officer Rahul Gupta,
The event saw the collaboration of the Social Welfare Department with the Education Department, Health Department, NGOs, locals etc.
The event focused on participative approach to disseminate larger objectives of the campaign in making the society Nasha Mukht. The Program included Sports activities, Pledge taking, Signature campaign, Skits, debate and dissemination of information about hazards of Drug abuse by Health Department experts.
Meanwhile, to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Trafficking, Drug Control Department Ramban along with Chemists Association Ramban organized an awareness program and an awareness rally from Boli Bazar to upper Bazar Ramban to promote a healthy lifestyle besides preventing controlling and addressing issue of drug abuse.
