Reasi Admin conducts day long operation to combat illegal mining activities

REASI, MAY 01: Mining Department Reasi, in collaboration with the Police department, executed a comprehensive day-long operation to combat illegal mining activities in the district.
The strategic initiative was spearheaded under the vigilant supervision of District Magistrate Reasi, Vishesh Mahajan.
During the operation, conducted with meticulous precision, authorities apprehended and seized one heavy excavator along with five dumpers. The vehicles were found to be clandestinely engaged in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of minor minerals at Anji Nallah, situated near release No. 4.
District Mining Officer, Shafiq Ahmed emphasized the importance of such drives in curbing the illegal extraction of minerals. He reiterated the District Administration’s commitment to protecting natural resources and ensuring environmental sustainability. He highlighted that strict action will be taken against offenders to deter future illegal mining activities in the district.
