REASI, MARCH 11: The Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the guidance of DDC Vishesh Paul Mahajan, organized Sports Activities as part of the SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation) Programme at HSS Aghar Jitto in block Katra. Participants of different ages engaged in various sports including Volleyball, Carrom, and tug of war, promoting the theme of “Fit Mind Fit Voters”.

The event was graced by the presence of Dara Singh, Principal GHSS Aghar Jitto, who emphasized the crucial role of SVEEP programs in educating and engaging new and upcoming voters in the electoral process. He highlighted that the SVEEP program aims to provide necessary information and resources to empower citizens to exercise their democratic rights effectively.

He urged those without EPIC cards to contact their Booth Level Officer. He emphasized the importance of instilling a sense of responsibility and understanding of the electoral process in the youth, as they are the leaders of tomorrow.

The theme of “Fit Mind, Fit Voters” underscores the importance of both physical fitness and mental preparedness in making informed decisions during elections. Such initiatives pave the way for a more informed and engaged electorate, essential for a healthy democracy.

The program was coordinated by Lecturers Satish Singh (Convenor) and Devinder Kour (Co-convenor), with matches officiated by Surinder Singh, Jasbir Kour, Sahil Sharma, Deep Raj, Ashish Kumar, and Priya Sharma. The event was organized under the supervision of Ram Krishan Bhat, Zonal Physical Education Officer, Reasi.
