Srinagar, Feb 27 : Passengers onboard a Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus travelling from Delhi to Srinagar remained stranded for nearly nine hours after the vehicle encountered a technical issue enroute.
The passengers of the vehicle alleged negligence from authorities, as they expected a proper check of the bus before it departed from Delhi.
Speaking to the news agency—, one of the passengers of the bus, said the bus developed technical snag at a location where there were no facilities including water.
“The unexpected delay left us frustrated and inconvenienced as we waited for hours,” he said, adding that despite efforts by the bus crew, the vehicle remained stuck, causing considerable discomfort to those onboard.
Another passenger, Shafiq Ahmad, said they were stuck in the middle of nowhere without any basic amenities for almost nine hours, facing an ordeal.
He added that after many hours, the RTC authorities sent another bus, but they were stuck for nearly seven to eight hours and faced many problems.
When contacted, a Road Transport Corporation (RTC) official told KNO that they acknowledge the delay, but it’s machinery and can fail anywhere
