Srinagar, Feb 28 : A passenger bus belonging to the Regional Transport Corporation (RTC) destined for Bandipora route has been rendered inoperative due to defunct battery, locals alleged.

Speaking to the news agency—, locals from the area said the bus (JK01 Y 1134) has remained non-functional since February 3, causing loss to the exchequer and inconvenience to them.

They added that the authorities could have replaced the defunct battery to make the bus operational again a

“We urge the authorities to swiftly address this issue and restore the bus to service, ensuring seamless transportation for the daily passengers of Bandipora,” they added.

An official from the RTC department told that the bus has been faulty for the last eight days and its battery units are on the way.

He added that till the battery arrived they have used makeshift arrangements as one of our buses got detained and they will use that battery in the bus.
