Samba pays tributes to legendary warrior General Zorawar Singh

SAMBA, MARCH 20: The birth anniversary of legendary warrior General Zorawar Singh was observed with great enthusiasm and reverence at Samba Fort today. The event, organized by the General Zorawar Singh Memorial Educational and Charitable Trust in collaboration with District Administration Samba, drew a large gathering of officials, family members, and local residents. Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma was the Chief Guest of the event. Other present were ADC Jagdish Singh, Padma Shri Mohan Slathia and other functionaries.

Led by the General’s sixth-generation great-granddaughters, Diksha Kalhuria and Riya Kalhuria, the celebration honored the remarkable legacy of the revered military strategist who made invaluable contributions to the region’s history and culture.

The program began with a heartfelt tribute to General Zorawar Singh, followed by an inspiring address from his great-granddaughter, who shared insights into the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of the legendary warrior.

The event featured a vibrant cultural show, including captivating performances of traditional Dogra dances, soulful poetry recitals, and energetic singing by renowned Dogra artists. Beautiful stalls displaying local crafts and heritage items added to the festive atmosphere, highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of the region.
