SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 22: In a bid to strengthen the implementation of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in schools, the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Association of Social Workers (JKASW) and support of UNICEF, organised one-day orientation programme for 100 selected Heads of Institutions (HOIs) and Cluster Heads from 10 districts of the Kashmir division at SCERT, Srinagar.

The orientation workshop was facilitated by Senior Academic Officer, Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad and JKASW team.
The JKASW team edified the participants on the finer aspects of ECCE and the critical role of AAYAs (ECCE Helpers) in education.

The workshop, a first of its kind, witnessed participation of 10 cluster heads/HOIs from each district on the role of AAYAs (ECCE Helpers) in education. The workshop is expected to enhance understanding of the Cluster Heads on the effective implementation of ECCE with the defined role of AAYAs.

The workshop was presided by Joint Director SCERT, Syed Shabir who emphasized the critical role of AAYAs in education and the need to incorporate innovation in education. Furthermore, he extended appreciation to JKASW for facilitating training of 3000 AAYAs and stressed on such collaborative partnerships in the future in this direction.

Executive Director JKASW, Ashfaq Ahmed Mattoo highlighted the key role of NGOs in the initiatives for ECCE and hoped for support and cooperation from SCERT in the future.
