Science Club- Utsaah hosts Seminar on “Advancing Technologies for Viksit Bharat” at JU

JAMMU, MAY 15: A one-day seminar program on “Advancing Technologies for Viksit Bharat” was successfully organized by Science Clubs, Utsaah in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Science, Technology and Innovation Council (JKSTIC), Department of Science and Technology, UT of J&K today at the University of Jammu.

The event shared the latest information mainly in the field of sciences with a special focus on Agritechnology and Biotechnology to students, scholars, faculty and staff with essential knowledge on emerging technologies driving India’s development vision for Viksit Bharat and channelizing the energy of youth away from drugs and addiction and making knowledge base economy for a better tomorrow.

Expert speakers including renowned AI specialists from SKUAST, a grassroots innovator and facilitator and a biotechnologist from the University of Jammu, spoke on various advanced technologies and their practical applications in nation-building. Participants engaged in an interactive discussion on the challenges and opportunities of implementing cutting-edge technology for Viksit Bharat@2047.

The Chief Guest of the event, Prof and Head, Department of Botany Dr. Susheel Kumar shared real-life examples from global tech advancements in the field and set an inspiring tone for the event. Assistant Director JKSTIC, Shruti Khanna was the special guest on the occasion.

The Guest of Honour, Chief Scientist and Head, Krishi Vigyan Kendra Arazi- Samba (SKUAST) Prof. Sanjay Khajuria expressed enthusiasm for fostering grassroots level innovations in J&K and shared his expert knowledge from the field. The Chairperson, Utsaah, Prof. Meena Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Science, University of Jammu extended her wholehearted support for the event.

Key speakers included Dr. Akash Sharma, distinguished Professor in the division of Fruit Science, Faculty of Horticulture & Forestry at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu. He delivered a seminar on “Artificial Intelligence Applications in Agriculture and Horticulture Systems.” Dr. Ankit Mahajan, Assistant Professor, School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu shared his knowledge on basic biotechnology and ensured engagement of students and scholars in understanding and awareness of genetic diseases and how new technologies are shaping healthcare.

The event was conducted by Dr. Chinmoyee Maharana, Coordinator, Science Club, Utsaah, University of Jammu. She delivered a vote of thanks to all stakeholders, especially JKSTIC for sponsoring the event, dignitaries for their valuable insights and participants for their active and enthusiastic involvement.
